1. Todetermine the optimum dosage of coagulant
2. Tomeasure the physical mater quality parameters such as turbidities, pH, color,after and before jar test.
Procedures
1. 6beaker prepared
2. Each100ml sample & 900ml tap water
3. Usingpipet, each beaker added diff dosage of coagulant. Beaker 1 blank sample
4. Initialvalue of pH, turbidity, was determined
5. Stirwith stiring machine
6. 3times phase
Rapid mixing – 3min
Slow mixing – 5min
Settlement – 15min
7. Qualitytest
· The addition of access coagulant mayincrease the turbidity of water & produce more sludge
· Coagulant can cause the changes ofalkalinity~remove OH- / lower pH addition of pH
Coagulants: Lime, calcium oxide,soda
Parameterthat must be considered to optimize dosage
1. Ph
2. Chemicalused (lime, calcium oxide or soda)
3. Metalpresent
